The University Tutor is an independent academic support service operating in Australia. We provide supplementary tutoring support by facilitating connections between university students and independent tutors who have previously completed relevant courses. The University Tutor is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with any university or educational institution.

The University Tutor provides non-accredited, supplementary academic support only. Our services are intended to complement university learning and do not replace lectures, tutorials, assessments, or academic advice provided by a student's institution. We do not provide formal instruction, grading, assessment, or certification services. Academic success depends on many factors beyond tutoring support, and no specific academic outcomes or results are guaranteed.

Tutoring arrangements may be coordinated manually by The University Tutor. While we take reasonable steps to match students with tutors based on course experience and academic performance, we do not guarantee tutor availability, compatibility, or outcomes. All tutoring sessions are delivered by independent tutors. Session content is determined by the student's course requirements, materials, and questions. The University Tutor does not control or prescribe specific academic content and does not guarantee the effectiveness or outcomes of any tutoring session.

Tutors registered with The University Tutor operate as independent contractors. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between The University Tutor and any tutor. The University Tutor does not supervise, direct, or control tutoring sessions beyond general expectations of professionalism, conduct, and quality.

Tutors engaged through The University Tutor must not, during the semester for which a match is made, directly or indirectly provide private tutoring services to a matched student outside of the platform. This includes entering into private agreements, accepting payment outside the platform, or continuing tutoring independently with a matched student without the prior written consent of The University Tutor. Any tutor found to be in breach of this clause may have their access to the platform immediately terminated and may be permanently restricted from providing services through The University Tutor.

Tutoring fees, payment structures, and tutor compensation may vary and are subject to change. Any pricing information provided on the website or during registration is indicative only until confirmed. The University Tutor reserves the right to modify pricing, service offerings, or availability at any time.

By registering as a student or tutor, you agree to: • Provide accurate and complete information • Use the services for lawful purposes only • Conduct yourself respectfully and professionally • Comply with all applicable laws and university policies The University Tutor reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the platform if these Terms are breached.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The University Tutor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from the use of the website or tutoring services. The University Tutor does not accept responsibility for decisions made by students or tutors based on information provided through the platform.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation which cannot be lawfully excluded.

The University Tutor collects and uses personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Personal information is used solely for the purpose of providing tutoring services and platform operations. Further details are available in our Privacy Policy.

The University Tutor reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
